OFFICIAL 1337arts.com Time Lapse Video!!!
Sorry this video took so long to get out. I was having some problems with the video compression (The original video was over 7GB!!)
Anyways, like I said, the video doesn’t look so great, but it does show all of the views that our camera captured during its flight.
If you would like to see the original pictures used to create this video, you may get them from my MIT Public Space:
They are in the folder titled “TimeLapse3” or in the Zip File titled “TimeLapse3.zip”
You have our permission to use any of these photographs (in a non-slanderous manner), provided that you credit Oliver Yeh, Justin Lee, Eric Newton, and 1337arts.com
Unfortunately, the images uploaded to my public space have been compressed (the original images are too large for me to upload). If you would like a copy of any of the original images (as you can see, there are quite a lot and many others besides the one on our site that are pretty sweet… although they might take a while to find…), email info@1337arts.com with the number of image you’d like to have (e.g. IMG_5565) and we will send you the original, full-size copy.
p.s. the images of the trees look squashed and there are some issues where you might see a random picture upside down in the time series b/c there were pictures that we had rotated and forgot to rotate back before making the movie.
Best,
-Justin, Oliver, and Eric.
@Drag0nfoxx Haha, if only you could the needed trigonometrical
calculations…
@ZenonDorinPower – Haha, what?
Energy sources without the need for fuel or energy input exist ,But the Oil
companies want these technologies unknown to the masses,Find this
technology at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,Be a part of the energy revolution!
Umm Pointless
THe video from the father and son looks a hell of a lot better
The video from the father and son looks a hell of a lot better
@Drag0nfoxx You wouldn’t see the curvature of the Earth if you did that.
This video is useless. What a waste of a balloon ride. Like andrewh23 said,
the father and son video was much better.
@Drag0nfoxx Because then they might as well just used Google Earth… 🙂
This way you could see the curvature of the Earth and have a more
space-like experience.
@Replayability The “father and son” spent nearly a $1000 dollars on their
project. These guys spent less than $150, and that is pretty incredible!
wut
Graet !!! So simple and so important!!
exactly 10x as many likes as dislikes.
the balloon popped at 2:47
Next time use a fisheye! Also maybe put the setup in a sphere or cylinder
and make it evenly balanced so it doesn’t spin so much.
very, very cool!
hmmmm…. ballon launch over donegal :-p

Wow its soooo wonderful!!
Hello, Great video! I am planning of doing this in the next couple of weeks
but I live close to the sea and I am scared that it will drop into the sea.
I was wondering how far away it landed away from the take of point, what
camera you used, and the gps tracker?
Is it possible to download the high-res images (which will be credited to
Oliver Yeh, Justin Lee, Eric Newton, and 1337arts.com)? The MIT link does
not seem to be active.
Great Video! Next time point the camera towards earth instead of Mars
what the hell was that at 2:48
2:51 looks like the balloon popped… 2:48 you can see the tail of the
balloon…..3:01 more of the balloon…
Check out my friend’s quality video of a similar journey!
No image cuality, looks like a fail.
Why not actually just take a video with the camera and if you want a good
picture, find a specific frame in the video that you like?
