I think I will save the higher altitude flying for my Mavic Pro. I would be afraid that higher altitude winds would carry it away unless it was dead calm. Thanks for sharing.

DO YOU NEED TO USE THE WIFI EXTENSOR?
Best of success for all of us with a Tello. I was flying mine the other day along the shoreline of a lake when it just ignored my commands and flew away. No control. I ran down a trail along the lake chasing after it, hoping to regain control. No luck. Could not see it. Could not hear it. Crashed and gone in the lake??? I was able to communicate with the drone, and commanded it to “take off” hoping to hear the sound of the props. Nothing. I could see leaves on a tree on my screen, but where is it? I was frantically searching when I figured to use the antenna strength meter as a homing device. Narrowed down the area to about 100 possible feet x 30′ altitude. Grabbed a canoe and binoculars and searched. Finally finding it about 30′ up in a tree. I run mine with prop guards, so it was stuck in the tree. If no prop guards, it would have hit the tree and fallen into the water . . . I won’t tell how I retrieved the the drone as not to offend any tree huggers.
Is the app Hack permanent? Or do you need to use the app before each flight?

Latest firmware update gives you the option to raise limit to 30m right from the Tello app
