This FPV quad is very fast, and should serve as a good trainer for intermediate fliers before entering the world of FPV racers. Find it here http://www.banggood.com/XINLIN-X181-5_8G-FPV-With-2_0MP-HD-Camera-Similar-Brushless-Motor-Headless-Mode-RC-Quadcopter-RTF-p-1033734.html?p=RB0922217402201307U3
Pro’s
– Xinlin adding powerful large direct-drive brushed motors have produced a small quadcopter with flight performance very similar to a brushless FPV racers. Am surprised that nobody has tried this before (at least that I’m aware of)? Brushed motors do have a huge price advantage over brushless. And remember that ESC’s of brushless motors can and do fail.
– Relatively good 5.8Ghz FPV video.
– Good control and FPV video range. Was able to fly it out past 100 meters, maybe more. FPV range is similar. Did not fly out of FPV range once during my entire demonstration flight.
– Headless mode and rapid one key return function.
Con’s
– Did not have any of the advertised features of brushless motors, true 720p video, or altitude hold. That being said, its excellent flight performance almost makes these transgressions forgivable.
– Weighs 283 grams with battery. Heavy enough to require FAA registration
and here is its flight demonstation.

definitely getting this quad for my birthday :)
Great video!
Just purchased a x181 and it is a fun little copter. I see that it could
use a prop upgrade. Do you have any suggestions on any that would fit?
Thx
thanks for the review I’ll be honest I watched your video in order to label
what all the switches on the controller do!! really didn’t feel like
struggling through the China=
English instruction book.. sometimes I give you a hard time in my reviews!
but in my opinion you are still the best at reviews.. still think I’m
better at mods though LOL
Don’t know why they advertise features it does not have. false advertising
doesn’t deserve my business. 3d and altitude hold ? I’ll pass on this one.
? Very nice review. It is quite impressive quad. How accurate is RTH with
out GPS.?
How do you know when it’s going to run out of charge while in mid-flight
also? Mine just crashed to the floor. And first time I got it I started it
up as a beginner and it flew off in the distance and I thought I was never
going to see it again and then I found it in some nettle bushes haha
how much was that ?
does this one come with American plugs or are they different
Hi, i am thinking make some mods to my tarantula x6. Does that motors would
work on it? Thank you.
hi, does it have altitude hold?
Thanks
thanks for your review
and pointing out this quadcopter is not BRUSHLESS
Hi, i’d like to get my third quadcopter (intermediare or expert) (or an
hex.. ). I can put around 100 euros, and i want a RTF. I would like a
brushless’. Wich one is the best actually (speed, quality, range, replace’
pieces available). FPV would be cool, but not as important. Please could
you give me two answers, a FPV one and a classic one? Thanks a lot for your
reviews! I like to watch it, but there are too many to make a choice!
