If you installed your flight controller not facing forward. If you rotated your 4-in-1- ESC. If you accidentally soldered up your motor signal wires wrong. Your quadcopter will FLIP OUT when you try to fly it.
I’ll show you how to fix this problem without touching a soldering iron once.
I remember asking how to do this your trick for figuring out what pin to reassign to which ml motor was much easier than the way I did it
did you buy a lottery ticket?
Thanks for the timely video, rebuilding a 3 inch quad and need to resource remap and fix board orientation. Thanks as always for great content!
The force is strong in you Joshua. 4.2% chance and you got it right!
Great video ???????
Just what i needed, ty.
Awesome video as always Joshua! I just wish you also showed how to change the motor rotation direction in the same video it would have been neat to see how to set all the motors in right order and with their corresponding rotation directions… but I guess you already talked about it somewhere in your other videos.
On ESC board with connector (Holybro TekkoS 4-in-1 ESC in my case) it was dead easy. Noted the real motor order on paper and then swapped pins in connector. Job done.
Joshua, do you have a tutorial about throttle/acceleration issues? With Emax RS2306/2400KV motors and Emax Avan 5065 3-blade props on punch with high throttle in straight line have that fluttering(?) sound. Doesn’t look usual. Do Avan-s definitely flutter? Or this is D-term issue? Motors are warm, but not hot.
Josh, does betaflight 3.3 cause an issue with receivers? I have bind a XM to a F3 board and it is not working in the receiver tab. taranis recognizes the XM but nothing in the tabs. What say you master of all? Please?
I’m having such a hard time keeping up with this shit… i just wanna fly lol I’ll figure it out
excellent video Joshua! Thanks
I just made a new build where i have to mount everything upside down. Thanks for sharing this info! Always awesome to learn from you.
Spot on timing JB just finished kakute f4v2 with tekko 32 and had this issue. Suggested folllow up video blheli 32 setup guide/ reversing motor direction ?
Josh,
In your previous video on BF3.1 you had to re-assign a motor to resource = “none” to prevent getting an error message when trying to remap a motor to a pin that was already in use. Is that no longer the case with BF3.3?
Great explanation and demo, these video examples help tremendously. I had to reassign resources last month when I soldered my motors 2 & 4 to signal pads 5 & 6! It took me a day to realize my error and I confirmed it on the pin out diagram for the FC (a practice you mentioned). I must admit that ummagawd has a similar video and he was kind enough to respond to my inquiry. Your idea to spool up the motors is fantastic since you can keep your quadcopter assembled. Thank you.
video very helpful and easy to do u da man J,B
to avoid such a situation I always mark the signal wires coming from the ESC’s before twisting them with 1,2,3 or 4 rings to know for which motor they are. Nevertheless that doesn’t help if one is provided with a wrong pin layout for the 4 in 1 ESC. I faced this situation for one of my ESC’s where signals for motor 2 and 3 were inverted and the had to do the resource remapping as well.
I always assign to “none” to free it up first, before assigning it to the pin, is it unnecessary?
