Come along for a drone flight over the surface of Mars! Well, Trona Pinnacles, California which might as well be Mars :-). Buy the UPAir One here http://www.banggood.com/UPair-UP-Air-FPV-With-12_0MP-1080P-SONY-HD-Camera-2-Axis-Gimbal-RC-Quadcopter-p-995265.html?p=RB0922217402201307U3&utm_content=huangguocan&utm_source=rcgroups&utm_medium=rcgs&utm_campaign=t00nz843z or here on Amazon http://amzn.to/2dM1WvY
This GPS FPV explorer quadcopter has plenty of special features including 5.8Ghz FPV, on screen display (OSD), high resolution 7″ monitor, two axis gimbal, and HD camera. IMO this quadcopter is still the best bang for your buck in terms of the features provided for the price.
Pros
– Very little assembly required (just prop installation). Gimbal, camera, landing gear, and everything else was already installed out of the box.
– GPS with dual compass that does not require compass calibration prior to flight (calibrates itself automatically during flight).
– Long range FPV (I’ve been able to get out to about 600 meters).
– High resolution 7″ monitor with on screen display (OSD) of pertinent flight information. Includes camera recording status, GPS satellite status, compass direction, range, total distance travelled, flight mode, total flight time, takeoff elevation, remaining battery power, speed, attitude, and my personal favorite… the arrow pointing home 😉
– Long range control (out to 1000 m).
– Failsafe return to home on loss of signal or low battery.
– Comes with Firefly 2K or 4K HD camera. It has gyro stabilization, although I didn’t not turn it on. The selection shows a video camera icon with dampener balls attached. Again, I had that turned off for this flight.
The camera also has varied field of view. I have wide angle selected for FPV flying. But it can be reduced to medium and narrow field of view (for those that don’t like fisheye).
The camera also has WiFi, so that the camera can be viewed in flight and controlled by the Firefly FPV app available on Google Play and iTunes.
– Two axis stabilized gimbal with tilt control.
– 5400mah quadcopter smart battery (I’ve been getting over 14 minutes flight time with it)
– Controller powered by 11.1V 2200mah LiPo battery.
– Flight modes include GPS position hold, altitude hold, IOC (headless mode), and return to home.
Cons
– Instruction manual was incorrect regarding the switch positions of the transmitter. May result in accidentally leaving the transmitter on.
– Controller’s antennas (5.8Ghz FPV and 2.4Ghz control) are not removable/replaceable. In other words, can’t install better antennas to replace the stock ones.
– Landings can be bouncy, but haven’t tilted the quadcopter yet in landing.
– High speed flying in altitude hold results in climbing of the quadcopter.
– Requires FAA registration to be flown in the USA.

WHERE DID YOU GET THE SUNSHADER FROM
Hubsan H109 is on sale for $340
I did not understand what would happen if you flew too fast in GPS mode. Do
you lose control for the rest of the flight or if you slow down can it re
group itself. Thanks.
Well, yes, it is low cost, but the trade offs on performance make it a
questionable buy (for me). Poor FPV range, Fisheye camera, GPS instability,
Barometric instability, quirky magnetic compass … The video from the
camera isn’t bad, until it gets shaken by a gust of wind (this besides the
rounded horizon ‘fisheye’ look). Perhaps for a beginner, who wants to stay
within 200 m of ‘home point’ and isn’t interested in going faster than 5
mph, this would be a buy. With “Black Friday” coming up, expect a lot of
deals on better GPS quads. I understand that Sam’s club will have the DJI
Phantom 3 Standard for $395 (2.7K camera). I’m hoping for some good deals
come “Black Friday”. BTW, did you get your H501C repaired yet? I’ve been
looking at that one too. Cheers.
i also love this drone, my first real drone after the x5hc, i was stuck
between this and the h501s after watching your videos over and over haha, i
have also modded for better stability and for fpv range, check out my
channel for more footage from this little beast and mod tutorials, im
uploading daily :)
I almost buy Hubsan h501s pro, but now… I don’t know what to buy. Price
is similar 290-300$ (h501s pro and upair 2k). I think more fun is hubsan
but upair have better video and 2 gps onboard.
This place need some snow 🙂 LOL
wow nice video! it’s been so long! couldn’t remember my yt password. just
one question… if you had to choose between the upair one and the dji
phantom 3 standard witch one would you chose? and I mean the actual
quadcopter not the price.
that’s an awesome view
Love that video….would love to have one.
Is that the default camera
i have the upair 4k an i had to order a new battery but it flys very well i
took it 600meters in the sky an hit RTH came back in 2 minutes
that has to be one of the best upair one flight ive seen 101 is a pro and i
always watch his video’s because 101 knows what he is saying very nice
video 101
I agree that it is the best bang for you’re buck as long as you get one
that works. I’ve had two of these so far that have had major issues with
them and now currently waiting to try one more when I get it. If this one
doesn’t work for me I’m giving up on the UPAir One I’m afraid.
Hi There when are you going to review the cg035 cause its cheaper but not
quite as many feachers as the upairone. But has stablised gimbal. By the
way pinnicals are awesome im so so jelious. Wish we could all fly there.?
This one is awesome but….For about $100 more I can get a used phantom 3
that will work with my Samsung Gear VR headset and have head tracking.
Anyone know if any of these cheaper drones work with any goggle cardboard
or gear vr apps for virtual reality viewing?
camera 2 k o 4k??
what time of quadcopters will carry a SJCam instead of a GoPro
5:51 Surprising how 125m out your mic can pick up the quad sound. Awesome
area to fly over, I like it every time you go there.
It does look like Mars, Nice Flight
COOL!!!!!
Too much blue in the sky to be to Mars. Nice try. ^^
Impressive place by the way.
Thanks Discovery channel 101… ^^
You find the Best places to fly.
Oh I must have just missed you. I was at the pinnacles on Thursday. I was
driving from death valley to I5 and passed through Ridgecrest. Next time I
am in the area I will keep an out out for you. Flying in the desert was
amazing. I am used to a confined area, really cool to have some range.
hi,
i love your videos. you are the best no doubt when it comes to
informational videos and reviews. i bought the 4k package and I cannot get
the transmitter to bind to quad,. its really weird and frustrating. I do
have fpv on the transmitter but i cannot unlock blades, start recording of
the 4k camera, or adjust the gimbal from the transmitter.
i tried the button on the rear of transmitter, it goes through the fm
channels and re-binds to the on screen display of the current view from the
onboard camera, but NOTHING else! I even tried every button and every
combination which gets me so frustrated I about sent it on its first flight
across my living room.
Please HELP.
I wish that the camera hack for these things came with the instructions.
But it may be worth mentioning it to anyone who has one or is thinking
about getting one. If you hold down the camera, (not video), button on the
controller
for 4 seconds and then release while the copter is still on the ground, it
changes the camera mode. There’s 1080 30 fps, 720 30 fps and 720 60 fps.
Each time you hold and release it changes the mode. You have to do it
before every flight though and I think you should be, (although don’t quote
me), in video mode when you do it.
yeah hhhh its like zmars looking for trouble in Mars hhhhh
Don’t get this one lads it flys but that’s about it ,fpv is about 150m ,
sent mine back and got a-refund.
hi there quadcopter 101. i really enjoy your videos and i love the way you
give details about the drones.. been following your reviews for quite some
time now cos i wanna get my very first drone and your videos are very clear
and honest.. i like it..
in the video you said, this quadcopter is the best bang for the buck. so, i
got a question to ask of you, if you had to choose, the hubsan x4 pro or
upair one? which would you prefer?
What a place man. Beautiful.
That was amazing, thinking of buying one
Wow…good video quality…no Jello, good resolution, good color. I like
it!
And some more info on the Martian landscape” seen here 🙂

should i buy the UPair one or the Hubsan H501S for aerial photography?
Nice steady flight , seems like a very nice quad . Gorgeous scenery too :-)
Another outstanding review video with stunning grandeur of landscaping.
Thank you very much QC101.
Great video!! Really like that view where u flew it at
Great video and enjoyable.
Ahhh great video as usual. Those needles and peaks sure look different
especially when you get real close to the top of them where no man has gone
before LOL.. I added a 200 mw transmitter to mine as an upgrade and was
getting amazing range from it a little over 1 km. Now it has a problem with
the throttle, so have to see what that is all about. Happy Flying

Hi.I have 32 GB Class 4 TF micro SD card.But it isn’t working.Camera showed
it is low speed card. What card exactly works this camera?
Thanks really appreciate it.
Hey man just saying I love your videos and I think you should just keep
doing what your doing because people that have a passion for drones are
grateful for you and your videos ?
