Betaflight 4.2 has made a change that means your OSD doesn’t work or your upload font button doesn’t work sometimes. I’ll tell you the fix, and the reason behind the change.

      Unfortunately ! My battery is incorporated into the device of my cell but you are talking about card not of the device ,,, KL air like rock water in fresh water, to actively not remove it to be able to blow up a plane with our consent !! That’s it !

      Pfft, who makes FC’s that can’t power up an OSD on USB… Shoddy FC design and improper USB protection diode selection. All SPRacing FC’s power up the OSD via USB. 😀

      Hey Joshua, I built my first quad late last year using the DJI setup with the NewBeeDrone Infinity stack because I am bad at soldering. I’ve noticed a few pilots like yourself use the DJI FPV camera and goggles but don’t use the DJI Controller. Is this something you do out of preference or is there a benefit in anyway? I’ve always wondered if you get better signal/range to the goggles if the Air Unit only has to worry about sending video and not have to deal with input from the controller.

      Great content as always. Working on getting my quad to 4.2 and getting my logo to pop up when arming. 🙂

      Is it possible, that this behavior changed again with version 4.2.1? Because I have just uploaded a new font to my Tinyhawk Freestyle II FC (MATEKF411RX) and also have the PAL/NTSC visible, although I did not have a battery connected.

      I was trying to upload the Extra Large Font because default is way too small in higher res. DJI goggles. Uploading the font works for me, but no change inside the goggles to the larger font even after Save/Reboot. I can’t read any of these values while flying with the default font size.

      I had no idea you had to power up the rest of the quad. A message would have been be nice. I had no idea I had to upload the font at all, until I saw this video, that there was the orange button there I had to click:

      On a side note, where does one download other custom Betaflight compatible fonts? Google search turned up nothing for me. I assume all the ones listed in the drop down menu are all the ones that exist so far.

      The Betaflight mockup OSD probably needs to be entirely reworked … placing objects on the screen… does not correlate to where they decide to appear inside the DJI goggles. It probably worked good enough for analog goggles at one time I’m sure.

      No real options to set Left/Right/Center inside a field cell or the field cell size, or Top/Bottom justification of a field either. Fonts need to have a drop outline or shadow option, inverted, or alternative different color (high contrast color of your choice). These things are hard to read against a variable background.

      New build had no osd or smart audio, using the talon fusion f7 (4.2 correct firmware) I couldn’t get it at all, also font was greyed out…
      Friend gave me different firmware, flashed. Osd and sa worked instantly.. is this linked??
