      Did you ever think about using one “can” nissan leaf battery/cell as power source ?
      That means a 2P-2S cell / 3 terminals, min 5.0V to 8.3V max.
      Using the can as baseplate, perhaps another carbon “armor” plate on the bottom.
      – i dont know if they make motors for high speed RC-cars at 2S,
      might have to use 2 motors (front and back for split AWD?) and a different gear ratio to compensate for lack of rpm.
