good stuff thanks for the review the chatter/ flutter is really evident
when in FPV
the antenna left turn or right turn polarisation? this could be problem if
the antenna’s were different
Excellent … I can see you are really getting into your Taranis! I have
“find me” beeper set up on SF, my rate mode switch is SE, and my
“ARM/Disarm” is on SB. I busted off my SH toggle the other day when my
Taranis slid out of my car and fell out the door onto the hard surfaced
parking lot. Fortunately, I don’t use SH for anything … think most use it
for “buddy box” transfer of control. My 1st thought when I heard your
fluttering motors was, you should have balanced your ESCs. Then I thought
your P (from PIDs) was way out, as that will cause fluttering. Heard the
announcements, and sounds like you have the same voice package I have on
mine, announcing various modes, etc. The Taranis is SO cool. When I got
mine, it was like $200 for the TX & RX … I remember way back in the day
of early “digital proportional RC” controllers, you’d be looking at $1000+
for something which only controlled 6 channels .. and the Taranis + X8R can
support 16. The FPV video was horrible, and I’m surprised you did as well
as you did with all the blinking. The DYS160 shows great promise, once you
get the new ESC and maybe a little tweaking of the PIDs and a good antenna
system. Looking forward to seeing that. The temps here might get over 50
deg today, so I may take my ZMR250 out and do a little FPV (on a screen)
myself. Cheers!
great little drone
Nice review! Maybe some epoxy on the SMA connector on top board. Seems like
that would be the first thing to break.
Part 3 – [Flight Test] soon
Neat. Wonder if this is small enough for me to fly at my indoor club site..
I’ve noticed you have put some weight on it with the run cam and voltage
alarm and stuff, not bad performance though it seems. Do you recommend it?
