Flying FPV Drones with Avegant Glyph Retinal Headset
Avegant’s Glyph was conceived of as a way to watch movies and play games in a head-mounted display, but its more interesting use is as a FPV viewer for camera-equipped drones. We check out the final production version of the Glyph and test it with the DJI Phantom 3 and Inspire 1 with head-tracking.

Thanks for watching!
Bebop? Wifi… err it doesn’t matter how clear the image, if it’s Wifi,
it’s gonna lag. Bebop is a joke. No serious FPV pilot would ever use one.
You just can’t fly that fast with wifi video lag.
This one see everything like tap less see?
Is Adam wearing AudioTechnicas?
thats awesome
I would never use a FPV headset with my phantom 3 because it is necessary
to see the actual environment around the drone. I would only use it as a
camera operator in a dual operator setup with a phantom
I think that the fatshark dominator HD v2 are better and you can use them
in the same way via HDMI cable.
Also know as the the Peepmaster 2016
“The Bebop”
Why am i the only one who gets the reference?
This is super cool.
I just jizzed…
Wow……these look awesome
Прикольные чуваки.
Now match this with the Amimon Connex mini and a TBS Discovery and you have
something great! :)
True FPV pilots will not buy this. It’s not fully immersive. You don’t need
to see your controller or what’s around you. All you care about when racing
is what’s in front of your drone.
600 bucks for a 720p, non VR display? This sounds like fail to me.
Could I plug the Glyph into my HDMI video card output on my desktop
workstation and replace my 27″ monitor? I’ve been doing CAD work since
1987 and have been looking for something like this since then. This looks
promising. I could zoom into the drawing and turn my head side to side and
up and down to pan around the drawing.
Could anyone tell my why rift and vive don’t adopt this kind of design? but
a bulky display instead
