Trying to make a small, fast, very responsive ACRO Quadcopter.
Here is the Build.
Hobbyking 250 ACRO Quad
Trying out the mini quad experience using Hobbyking Parts.
HK 250 Diatone Frame
DSY 1806 2300kV Motors
AFRO 12a ESCs
KK2,1 Flight Controller using RC911 Firmware
Turnigy 9x Transmitter and Receiver
See the PI settings here
See the Flight Demonstration here.
nice quad
You mind sharing your PI Editor and Self-Level Settings values? Can’t seem
to get my same setup dialed-in.
Hobbyking Diatone 250 Quadcopter PI settings for RC911 firmware
Had a few requests for this now so added all the information here.
+Simon Hahnel Thanks a million!
just fyi kv doesn’t actually mean kilovolt, kv is an RPM/volt constant. I
know I know.. useless trivia 😉 thanks for the video
while we’re at it, the motors are DYS not DSY, and those are not
self-tapping screws XD You can’t get anything past us youtube commenters
Simon 😀
+iforce2d LOL. At least I got it wrong on every upload I made. That’s my
lisdexia at its finest.
+Troy Rank Not trivia. Its important to know. I misunderstood what KV meant
as well until I watched a video explaining it all and how 3s , 4s, etc..
batteries effect the overall RPM of the motors. I still have a lot to learn
but this seems to be possibly the most important part of “tuning” a racer
and its widely overlooked.
did you increase the endurance/flight time by upgrading the battery or
motors mate. Looking into a self build mini and gathering research. Dont
really want a superfast mini quad but a mini endurance for fpv, and google
search brought me to your link and you state a 1hr flight is capable.
Wondering how you manage this as 45min+ flight time is what I’m aiming for.
Cheers
Think you have the wrong video. I can fly this 8 mins tops.
still an excellent quadcopter.
Thank You. Flies exceptionally well this one.
Hi…. How much Remote distance ???
500-900meter
Certainly further than I can see. If you use good antenna it can go as far
as 5km. But as is 500m would be a good guide.
ok thanks ;3
Thanks for sharing. Whats the weight on this build?
please boost volume a bit higher than whisper quiet
how much it cost in total?
+Sochet SOM
Frame $10
Motors $40
ESCs $40
KK2.1 $20
Receiver $9
Transmitter $60
Battery $8
So all up around $190
you know it doesn’t work when you plug your cabels of the esc in the
receiver pins
i have a question, cant really find my answer, the motors, are they from
heli’s or planes?? tried to look though the forums, but i cant navigate
them, someone help..
hi. i have a important question: can i put my 2212/ 920kv motor on this
copter frame ?
please answer, thank you !
Not sure if you can get a prop / motor combination that will lift this
weight on this frame but they certainly fit. See below.
Can’t hear u very well. Wanted to let u know.
A lot of zip ties.. Jez!
How much $ was it?
Frame $10
Motors $40
ESCs $40
KK2.1 $20
Receiver $9
Transmitter $60
Battery $8
So all up around $190
Thanks… Cool! Great job. With out radio? I have a micro but its time
to step it up.
Transmitter and Receiver refer to the Radio
yes lol
Hi there….quick question ? why is it necessary to remove the positive
cable from the plug set of the esc?
what function/purpose does this serve? I have seen this done before. Does
it have to do with the set up or flight controller one is using ?
It is about the voltage supplied on that pin. The controller needs 5 volts.
If you supply 5v x 4 in parallel it can sometimes burn out the flight
controller. I have had this happen to me once with a NAZA Lite controller.
KK2 seems to be able to handle it but better to be safe.
+drone19730602 I’ve been flying KK2s for almost 2 years and have never
removed the positive wire. As long as the BECs on your ESCs are “linear”,
then you should be fine.
+Simon Hahnel Thanks for your advice.
+travisgrindal Thanks for your advice.
the reason for cutting the pos. wires but motor 1 ?

+Simon Hahnel yes, that makes sense, thank you !
what battery charger does the battery use
when u conect the esc to the kk board do u have to put them in a order or
not im new to building quads and i would like to learn
+aerial beast Yes motors must connect in the correct order and spin the
correct way
owcan u check or know if their in the rigth spot
All the controllers are different so you need to research the specific
controller you plan to use.
also sorry to bother what battery and charger do usefor this quad
+aerial beast Turnigy 3a 3A Lipo with an Accucell 5a balance charger
thanks
