This is a tutorial for filming bike adventures with a drone. It’s a random skill, but makes videos WAY cooler. I got my first drone in 2016, the Mavic Pro, and since then I’ve been incorporating drone footage into all of my adventure videos, especially my bike packing tours.

GREAT video Thank you. When do you download your footage? Do you download on the trip or only when you get home. If on the trip, do you download to the cloud or a device. LOVE your informative video, I bought a Mavic mini because of you .Love it .
so the only way to make such videos as you do – is to make them manually? there are no good automatic modes in some drones?
Whenever I watch your videos, I get a Master Class in drone filming. Previously, I had to isolate my eyes on the bike to try to figure how you did it, disregarding the stunning video! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. Stay safe and just keep on being Ryan!
I’ve watched a ton of your videos and every single time I thought to myself “surely he’s not flying that drone while riding the bike.” Now I know!
Wow Ryan, you are a wild man! I knew it couldn’t be easy!! Lol.
Always amazed by your beautiful images.
Stay safe
I first saw your videos last fall after I got back from a week-long Utah ride. Your love of biking is contagious!
Hi Ryan, I have asked that question about drone flying while you are riding the bike with every video I watch of yours. I have flown and still fly RC planes for years, I have been thinking of a drone for the rides Cindra and I go on. Thank you for making this video, it was very helpful

NICE VIDEO AND SCENERY
223 comments might asked this already..however…. Do you use ND filters on your drone?
This was super useful for drone running too! Obviously, you don’t have to worry about balancing the bike as you go, but I like it to look like I’m actually running in my drone shots, so I can’t really look at the controller. Totally is all about those gentle joystick movements!
Super entertaining especially since we are still laying low. Cheers to ya!
Awesome as always!!!
Good stuff! I’m kinda leaning towards picking up the mini, but you said it’s camera quality isn’t as good. How significant is the difference?
still love that clip with the horses, remember it from one of your other videos 😀
Hi Ryan, do you ever fly in national parks ? If so, how do get authorisation ?
I have been using the DJI Spark and have it secured at the center of the stem & bar, allowing for frequent adjustments and control and incase of emergency, I can focus on getting both hands on…. The follow me feature is pretty average. However , I have my eyes set on the skydio 2. Have you looked at that? Curious to hear your thoughts if you have.
You know what Ryan, honestly, sometimes I wish I were YOUR drone with all of that beauty to see!
I bought the new Mavic Mini 2 and it has the 4K camera so it’s now the best when weight and space are important. It has the Auto Track pattern that many have learned to get excellent footage.
