We chat with ImmersionRC about their upcoming Vortex 250mm quad, which was designed with FPV flying in mind. It comes bundled with all the essential components pre-installed and integrated–all you need is a transmitter and video goggles.

Looking forward to the release date. While i am not ready to buy I am
excited to hear the reviews from the racers out there. This one is on the
top of my watch list.
Only issue I see with this design is the ends of the arms and cables. Its
nice to have a bit of meat extending out side the bell housing on the motor
to take the side impacts. I am getting one for sure but I would probably
get new arms a bit longer and groove out a section in the top for the
cables and set the motor mounts in from the end about 6mm. SO any side
impacts on concrete or anything hard Im less likely to damage the motor and
wires.
Hey +ImmersionRC is there any way I could get the approximate folded
dimensions of the vortex w/ props… If at all possible just length and
width .. please

+ABMNS PRODUCTION ok- I apologize for the name calling, it was very
immature & uncalled for. I also apologize if you’ve had some sort of
negative experience with immersion (& no I have no affiliation with them
aside from being a dedicated customer). But they have been there through
every little issue I’ve ever had. I had purchased an EZ OZD awhile back &
when the vendor refused to help because he said I probably wrecked the
aircraft & ruined the component , I contacted immersion & they helped me
out “Completely”! This is only one of a few examples of how they have stood
by their customers.
If you’ve had a bad experience I’m sure it was an isolated incident & could
probably still be fixed! You’ll get nowhere posting how shitty they are on
their product videos.

small motors, tubular CF with plastic everywhere. ccd cam looks straight
on…this is probably going to be one of the most fragile/not that quick
racing minis out there. for 380 you can build quite a nice one.
+doluseb the frame and arms are carbon fiber. that thing aint fragile

plastic holding the arms straight. plastic holding the motors, and various
plastic and nylon pieces throughout. I’d say compared to other minis this
thing will break…a lot.

Boris B, Charpu, MetallDanny and UmmaGawd having been putting this beast
through its paces and it is performing incredibly well. The ability to tune
PIDs on the OSD like that out of the box is amazing! My only complaint?
It’s March 30th and I’m still anxiously waiting!
If a kit is ready to fly you should not need to buy anything else to fly
it. it should have everything that you need to fly it in the kit, it
shoud be built and everything programmed and ready go go, just charge
the battery, check to make sure everything is working correctly and in
order and its 100% ready to fly. buy a plane or helicopter RFT kit and
you get the aircraft, receiver, radio, battery, charger the whole shebang
and its all built and programmed and ready to go. charge the battery,
power it up and fly right out of the box nothing else needed. . so this
is really a almost ready to fly kit. not sure why they are saying these
quad kits are ready to fly when they are not, you still need to purchase
at least something to make it ready to fly so it is not ready to fly.
Will my Dx6i controller work with this out the box?
would it be possible to easily add a GPS system on this also?
