Here is part 1 of my 2016 Drone Nationals trip. I want to post this to remember this moment in my life. When I watched the 2015 Nationals, I knew I had to make it to next years event. After having a mid flight failure at the LAFPV qualifier that took me from 1st place to 11th overall I didn’t think Id make it. The only other qualifier I could attend was in Bend Or 930 miles away. With the support from my wife, I was able to arrange a trip to have 1 last chance to qualify which turned out how I was hoping.
The 2016 Drone Nationals did not go that good for me, not because of a lack of skill, I believe, but more a lack of preparation for the elements and distractions with being in NY for my first time. The event ultimately was about the sponsors and possible investors which is what this sport needs to advance to where all the attending pilots want, and for that I am glad to have been a part of it.
Enjoy, and to all the pilots out there… Ill see you one day. Ill race you one day. 🙂
