Tokoroa Airfield. Bad touch and goes, plus some kart racing04:41

Not a lot of RC model flying at the Tokoroa Airfield field today but we did get to see some pretty awful downwind touch and goes from student pilots and the gokart club next door were having an event so here’s some coverage of that.

      Hope to come down next weekend Bruce, health and weather permitting-been busy and crook here plus finishing off a couple of planes Iā€™m working on. Hopefully this windy and changeable patch passes through and we get a few more decent weekends before the winter gets here proper.

      I raced stock cars on flat track, in my youth. Those blokes didn’t appear to have a clue about how to negotiate a curve. Entry and exit line. Great change of pace video. šŸ˜‰

      Did you see the NEAR COLLISION with the light aircraft and the “drone” 0:43 time stamp. Don’t blink, you’ll miss it.

      Part of PPL training is to teach DOWNWIND landing so you can recognise the extra airspeed required in the event you have no choice but a DOWNWIND landing. As you said “a student pilot’ , so why would you be mocking????? I guess every remote airfield has it’s peanut gallery….”would be’s if they could be’s”. Stay with your RC hobby boys.

      You have the most bazaar RC flying field, sharing full sized aircraft & a goKart track. So many distractions, you guys must be fully trained full balsy RC pilots to be able to fly there šŸ™‚
