The nose is so light and long, that it tries to become the tail at higher speeds. I’ve run into this before on a couple of my designs.

Xwing needs a canard
To be honest I could tell from the start there was far too much control surface for that plane. So change control surface to minimal control only on one set of wings. Shorten fuse 3 inches, make it a kit and I will buy several!

A full length bottom rudder on the X-wing might hve worked considering the “arm” to the nose.
The x wing was also suppose to have wings that went parallel for simple flight then would engage x wing mode for more drastic turns while in a dog fight if you made the wings midflight adjustable to make them parralel solve a lot of issue and make it more badass lil just my own opinion
i’d like to see it fly again! that was so cool to see all the tight turns possible with the X wing design. I wonder would adding a little weight to the nose make it easier to control in flight??

I think that in a perfect world, a fly by wire system paired with thrust vectoring would solve much of your vertical stability problem. Essentially let the astro-mech deal with it. Then you would fly it fast but not turn it fast to avoid the balance problems inherent with having all the mass on the back. In the video, it kept stalling in slow speeds and tight turns especially as you added the weight from the rudders. With so much weight at the back it became too heavy to break the stalls, leading to some flat spins.
If it were real, it would be more of a long range missile plaform rather than a dogfighter. Which is kinda how they used them in the original movie. They were fast, able to take a hit and able to deliver guided munitions.

if you still want to keep the black parts of the tie fighter maybe put like a black mesh on it so the air passes easier
