The Contixo F18 is a Quadcopter Drone comes loaded with many great features that make this a premium drone. The price point of $299.00 puts this drone in the higher price bracket, but the included features make the price point acceptable. Droning is one of my hobbies and I own nine different drones all at various levels with the F18 being my top tier drone at the moment. The Contixo F18 is a very sleek and fast drone but it includes many features found on the much higher priced premium drones.

This F18 has a built in GPS so the drone knows where it is at all times. I literally set it at 30 ft and put the remote down on the ground and the F18 just hovered in the same spot for several minutes. The GPS auto corrects the hover so this drone can film in one spot very effectively. The GPS also will prevent drone loss due to user error and will prevent drone loss due to a low battery.

The controller is also very user friendly and the display screen will let you know the battery life of the controller and drone as well as GPS satellites, the drone height and the drone distance from you. The throttle is also very responsive and the aerodynamic design of the F18 allows it to turn on a dime and rotate at a high rate of speed. The one touch buttons are also spaced nicely on the controller for easy access.

With the Altitude hold feature this drone is suitable for even a beginner drone pilot. It is very easy to control and the learning curve is very minimal. Super stable and it is highly responsive, it would be hard to crash this thing unless you are not really paying attention to your surroundings. The FPV though the F18 APP allows you to see where the drone is out of the camera on front and allows you to preview your recorded footage. The 1080p camera takes excellent videos and photos. You can record them directly to your phone through the F18 APP or onto a MicroSD card (not included).

Here are some of the F18 features in more detail:

Advanced GPS assisted hovering: GPS mode enables precise positioning and prevents drone loss. Simply move the GPS switch to the on position before operating the drone to use all the GPS features such as Return to Home and Low Voltage Return to Home. You must wait approximately 1-2 minutes until you achieve a GPS signal of at least 7.

Smart RTH: If a strong GPS signal is available (more than 7 satellites on the LCD screen) and the home point is recorded at takeoff, press the return home button. The drone will fly back to the home point. You can use the remote controller to guide the drone around obstacles during the smart RTH procedure.

Fail safe return: Failsafe RTH will be triggered if the remote controller signal is lost for more than 6 seconds, the GPS control system will guide the drone automatically to the last recorded Home Point. Regain control of the drone by press the RTH button if the remote controller signal is recovered.

Low voltage RTH: The drone will perform a Low Voltage Return to Home function when the battery is low. If the drone’s altitude is over 300 ft. or the drones distance is 900 ft. away the drone will automatically fly back to the original Home Point. If the drone’s altitude is over 45 ft. or the drones distance is over 45 ft. away the drone will automatically fly back to the original Home Point.
