This altitude hold drone is the first that I could actually control using its smartphone app 🙂 It’s altitude hold feature, along with “g” sensor inputs, or flight plan inputs were very usable to control the drone. Find it here http://shrsl.com/?~cjke
Pro’s
– FPV hexacopter with altitude hold.
– Very stable and easy to fly at low speeds. Should be an excellent learn to fly drone.
– Can easily fly this hexacopter without its controller using your smart phone. With the “MJX H” app (free on Google Play and iTunes), the pilot can fly by three different methods, 1) with simulated stick control using touch screen sticks, 2) with the phone’s “g” sensors as directional input, or 3) by drawing a flight plan route on the phone’s screen which the quadcopter will follow.
– FPV video from app can also be viewed in split screen if desired to be used with phone VR goggles.
– Headless mode and one key return.
– Does not require FAA registration.
Con’s
– Poor resolution recorded video, and FPV video lag.
– With altitude hold, wind or high speed will create a static pressure drop that the quadcopter’s barometer will interpret as an increase in altitude. The quadcopter will automatically reduce throttle at higher speeds because of this. It is necessary to manually increase throttle at high speeds to prevent impact with the ground.

I think the mjx 600 is a better hexcopter when it comes to having fun and
the mjx 601h is more of a camera hexcopter
–there might be a button on the TX to turn the camera on.
Very cool!
What is the best mjx
Can i ue these lipo’s for the MJX X601H ?
Can yo fly the drone without wifi?
Good review as usual…I have ordered one on the srength of it….have you
investigated the option for viewing the display using VR glasses
+quadcopter101 wen i connect to the wifi network and i open the control app
and i pres on and i press engine start it wont do anything
“oooh, a thunder storm!! lets fly a drone…..” lol, jkz…
great videos man, you should do a top 5 drones video.. taking into account
the cost, build quality, flight time etc…
keep up the grreat work!
Hey, can you tell me about the “low and fast speed” how fast is the drone
in fast mode ? :-)
Hi, was there any wind when you tested the auto-land feature? Any sort of
wind current can play tricks on a drone’s barometer causing features such
as auto-land to fail. If you try to do an auto-land indoors with no wind
currents I can assure you each landing will be successful. Winds also
create a lot of other problems for drones with altitude hold. I’ve detailed
them here:
I’m currently testing a new 360-size toy drone capable of lifting a GoPro
that has altitude hold and in windy conditions, the auto-land feature
simply doesn’t work at all. Worst, it won’t even land when i try to do it
manually.
Pushing the throttle stick down to zero doesn’t do anything. The drone just
hovers and when the wind picks up speed, it actually gains altitude slowly.
I had one instance when I couldn’t control it and it ended up landing on a
tree canopy. Took me nearly 2 hours and a 6m long aluminum rail to get it
down.
Altitude hold in toy drones is still in its infancy so buyers beware.
They’re ok when flying below 30 meters. If you plan to fly above 30 meters,
get ready for some hairy situations if the wind picks up.
love your reviews man… informal and just a lot of honesty and fun… keep
it up! Your reviews are such a great reference for making purchasing
decisions.. there are so many choices out there now.
1. Is C4OO8 720p camera(of x600) better than that of the x601h? I want to
buy x600 from this link(Is it worth buying?) 🙁
)
2.Should I buy this mjx x600? Can you suggest me the best I can with around
100 USD(quadcopter+radio+extra battery)?
I will probably get one of these really soon. I always buy some cool
looking Quad seeing how smooth and good they fly and can’t keep them flying
for 60 seconds straight =D
what app did you use? 4005? Cant get the camera to work
I have the X600 and love flying it, but I have replaced five motors in
about 9 months. I’m on the third motor on the back/portside rotor. That
seems a bit excessive since I haven’t replaced any motors on my other
quadcopters. I typically carry an 808 camera and rarely a RunCam/Mobius on
this model. Do you think that is a fluke or is this what we can expect in
the 601 as well?
no matter how slow I move up the throttle, it flies up full speed. how can
I fix this?
figured it out, just had to calibrate it
Thank you for the review. Would the motors and batteries of the MJX X101
fit on the MJX X601H ?
Have the same problem, the app is connected but no image from the camera.
Hello, do you know if the new MJX X601H will work with the old remote from
the MJX X600?
Will the older green love ght syma tx bind ??
Anybody have a clue where to get batteries for the x401h? 7.4v 350mah ?
can i use another action cam into this guy ? does sth happen after that
I am going to do some antenna mods on this hexcopter (just ordered it) and
was wondering if it has 2 transmitter and receiver antennas, 1 for the 2.4
controls and 1 for the wifi 2.4 FPV or do the control signals share the
same antenna as the wifi FPV since they are both 2.4ghz? Just wondering
about what I need to order and what I will find when I crack it open.
Could this hold a Gopro? If not what would you recommend for that,
preferably with altitude hold. Thanks!
lol thats not a quadcopter that a hexacopter
And from where you offer me to buy the product?
What’s better the MJX X601H or the MJX X600?
Hello sir, my mjx 601h has problem. Whel i connect it then the liglt always use to blink and it takes off automatically without doing anything. Wen i do emergency stop it get stops but. It again go and fly. Is there is any thing to reset it because earlier it was working very good. Or you have any solution
Sir, You are costing me a fortune ! I bought one of these, Set it up in the house & it performed fine ( i have a x600 ) took it outside &powered up . It shot up to around 50ft flew over a neighbors garden ( still climbing ) no amount of “stick twiddling”, switch flicking or holding the T.X. above my head produced any results, the x601 was last seen still climbing & heading out to sea………..
I am not the only one who has this experience, not recommended — $70 per flight…………………
Sir, when it takes off it started to move here and there without any control, and if i give any control it do not follow it, it goes automatically out of fild and get cashed.. so what can i do please sir reply me quick
Hello sir, i use to see your all video, I have a mjx 601 H. i want to know that if my drone get out of control then how to arreange it or manage it how to make it perfect. Because it always goes out of control.please sir tell me reply me
MJ X needs to make this into a Bugs Hex with brushless motors, every Bugs fan would buy one
IS… Is that a sexcoptorr?
Could some one make a video on how to prevent this model from flying away… Mine totally left me
***@Quadcopter 101 -*** Thank you very much got it to work! :^) The MJX hot spot signal kept disconnecting and reconnecting to my default saved home TWC Wi-Fi. LOL A prompt comes up ‘do you want to remain connected to MJX … . I press yes and it now works! :^)
