UPDATE: I have ordered XM30A ESCs because I think they will be a good ESC to own going forward anyway with their modern processor – Even if this project fails, I can reuse them on something better!
Hi Adam:) Great work:) I am following roboforcers effort, and I will follow
your progress to. Being a fixed wing pilot I don’t have any advice to offer
on the electronics. About the flat arms…. I would make a foam fairing on
top of each of them. Don’t need to print anything precise. Just carve them
out with a knife and spot glue them over the arms. There is no need to make
anything for the underside of the arms as the air will separate from the
surface no matter what.
Anyways…. Looking forward to seeing the progress.

I’m not sure if there are any rules or whether you would care even if there
were… but I would have thought aerodynamic lift is a bit naughty :)

Awesome work mate ! , those 2208’s will put out 1.5kg+ on 4s 6040 so im
sure you’ll have fun! . there is some great data coming out from the kraken
thread about angles and aerodynamics but i wouldn’t get to lost in that as
there going for a race quad and i fell like all your trying to build is a
drag quad .. Who cares if it corners so long as it gets the top speed :)

I like the idea, I’m waiting to see how you sort take off and landing
difficulties :)

I was going to suggest carving some foam (wedge) for the back of the arms
to create a more streamlined flow. That way when you slide some heat shrink
over the esc/arm/wedge you get a sort of airfoil section
