The Phoenix 2400 has undergone a slight upgrade in the face of a new FrSky R9 MM 868Mhz receiver, for a more robust control link, and a more powerful Vtx with a CP antenna, for a more reliable and longer range video link! I am constantly pushing new boundaries with this one and I am loving it more and more! What a great model by Volantex… and that tail mounted camera is simply outstanding! I think for the Phoenix V3, Volantex should design a camera mount for the vertical stabilizer in the factory, so I wouldn’t have to DIY it!

I would be interested to see how far you can go while staying below 400ft/120m. You are at such a high altitude it is like cheating to get better reception and the video is looking like a satellite picture. The scenery would look better at lower altitude.

random question. What flight controller/s hardware/software would you lean towards if you were going to make a RC semi autonomous rover that you needed to follow a manually plotted path around a big 30 acre paddock? 1-2 meter accuracy should be fine. ardupilot seem to cover rovers specifically, so that appears that it might be easier that trying to use a platform that is really only designed for multi-rotors and fixed wing planes. Any thoughts from your huge experience with autopilot??

How does the 2400 handle strong winds?
Well done from all of us in Australia, best fpv videos. One question, do you find the factory CG marks under the wing on the 2400 to be accurate?
I added a 12g micro camera on my tail and it is massively tail heavy even with a 2800 4s battery.
Forget thermals, find a windy day and soar the ridge lift from those mountains in the distance !!! Ridge and Wave lift are incredible, it makes thermals seem like child’s play 😁 I love the combination of HD and actual video recorded from the ground… I need to put an HD camera on the tail of one of my planes, that gives a really awesome view !!!
