Wes demos the Naza + GPS flight control board on the XP2 Quadcopter. He shows how you can do very accurate GPS hover holds. He also shows how to calibrate the GPS unit, and then shows off the fail safe return to home feature.
The first return to home attempt did not work go well. Wes had to manually recover the craft after it looked like it was going to crash into a tree. The second return to home attempt worked beautifully and landed about 2 feet from where it took off.

The first time I tried the RTH function it worked perfectly! The second
time, not so well haha pretty good crash
You didn’t have a chance to recover? That’s a bummer.
GReat thing but if you can’t rely on the GPS you’ll be loosing $2000. I’m
really afraid of loosing it on a shooting day.
We have tested the RTH function hundreds of times and while it isn’t 100%
reliable, it does work very well but should be used as a means of last
resort. We have had a quad over a 1/4 mile away about 300′ up over an open
field that we triggered the RTH function on and it worked perfectly,
landing within 2′ of its original takeoff. Flying in open areas away from
trees and buildings is the key to getting a good reliable GPS signal.
LOL My DJI Phantom 2 Vision works perfectly in Failsafe Mode and its half
the price!
It needs a PID control
You need to throat punch the camera man and get a new one that doesn’t zoom
in and out nonstop. Other than that GREAT video content!!!!!
