I upgraded my Batman220 with these low kv motors following Albert Kim’s Video, and am very pleased with the results.
Your ‘6S theory’ seems to be proven out by this video .. very consistent results on the speed trap. There doesn’t seem to be much standardization in the race courses that these race quads fly these days. Some of them are quite complex with the gates, double backs, loop gates, etc. I’m afraid I’d be totally useless in these kind of races with my fixed wing RC background. Back in my ‘heyday’, when you wanted to fly aerobatics, you entered a Pattern event. When you wanted to race, you entered a Formula 1 or 2 event, and those courses were basically straight line around 2 or 3 pylons, and best time for 10 laps was the score. Probably the most precarious part of racing back then was to watch out for ‘mid-airs’. Ah well, as you said, times change and you have to adapt or go the way of the dinosaurs (or old time pilots). Bardwell claims to have solved the death roll by turning up demag compensation in the Blheli Suite. Did you try that yet?
Great review .I got a mefisto 6s for $230 3 weeks ago .The main reason I like 6s is longer flight time. I get around 4 to 5 mins with my mefisto.I hate flying for 2 mins and having to land. That’s just me .Thanks for all of your great reviews 🙂
I got this same set up only with the 2306/2450 KV motors on 5s….and I’m running same speeds as this 6s version. ..and I love free styling with 5s and 2306 much more than 4s

How fast would my 2406 2800kv on 4s go, can I try 5s on it?
Andy maybe consider using two Pins in the field? So you have like 400 Meter and can time it afterwards .
That would take voltage sag and so on into the speed test
i use 6s. it seams to me vibration is more of an issue but once that is sorted out batteries hold up better last longer so its better all around . for me atleast .
